Klassy will be four years old on April 26th! She is growing up right before my eyes and its so amazing! I am hoping to be back in the saddle in 3 weeks or less. School is over june 18th, so 8 more weeks and I hope to havea good knee so I can work her as much as I can and will be looking for a job soon after graduation!
Enjoy the pics :)

April 2010
Finaly sun again, less raina nd wind and storms! I am sitting here at home with a wonderful sore back from getting bucked off yesterday. Klassy decided that she shouldnt have to be in the arena with a few other horses who where a little high strung and well, trying to get her not to rear she just poped up and hit me in the head, OUCH! and the proceeded to jump straigh up and buck. Talented little bugger I seem to have on my hands. I have nice headache, a small concusion, and extremly sore neck and shoulder/back as thats what I landed on. Luckly she decided to stand and not walk on me. so after a few minutes of figuring out what really just happend and trying to not see stars. I got back on and of course the snot decided this was now a game, she has gotten me off twice this way and well why not a third time, maybe i wont get back on? WRONG, she decoded to hope around ad buck and spin like a reinging horse and well she got her little booty handed to her a couple of times, after almost going over the wall into the isle and spinning and rearing in the far corner she decided I was on for good. We then acted like nothing was wrong, and streched down, bended nicly for me, across the daigaonal she yeilded to my leg and we had nice transtion to trot to walka dn back up. Decided not to ettempt my fate again by asking for the canter but we started great, and ended wonderfully. funny thing is she wasnt even sweating. UGH.
I am headed over there agin this afternoon to work her again and I am going shopping for her for show stuff and wormer.
ANyways I have some fun picstures Iv gateherd up adn will be back on tonight I hope or this weekend tell you how my ride was.

So much improvement

So for those of you who didnt hear, I went out to the barn on tuesday to work Klassy since I had been sick the week before and had so much HW and stuff with school going on I couldnt make it out till then.
So I started working her just like I always do, on the lounge line with side reins and she was the best she has ever been with them, really concentrated on my verbal commends to trot and was good both ways, was stepping under herself and carrying her bodey the proper way and man I am telling you when she does that.... she looks like a little sport pony with her fluffy mane and tail and big stride :) haha she is so darling! It was almost like she was showing off, "look at me mom I look so good!" So then when I got on her she was so great! forward, ettentive to my leg, soft in her mouth. We were doing figure eights, 3 circles in the arena to one end to the other end. But about 20 minutes of our amazing ride she decided she wanted to show me a new trick... she grabbed the bit stuch her head in the air and tried to go all cow like lamla on me, I tried to get her back under me and she was stepping hard on the brakes... "EEERRRRCHH" and so I tapped her forward with the whip and she told me this was her trick.. KABOOOM.... THUD... She bucked me off straight into the arena wall, ohand if you wondering that wall, yeah its not going anywere, very solid. I got back on and acted like she hadnt just catapolted me off likea bronco and i now had lovley dirt all over me and that I had the wind knocked so hard out of me I was still caughing when I got on her, anyways she went on like nothing happend as well. Super good for me, listend to me, forward still, wasnt even cranky. We ended on a great note, two balenced trantions into the walk from trot!
Now if that wasnt enough for you, wait till you hear about my BEST LESSON EVER! lol
So pretty much it was the best lesson ever with Klassy because :
WE CANTERD! Yep, and it was pretty darn good if I do say so myself. She was able to start figureing out how to balance her bodey the right way and I kept having to push her out on the circle cause we wanted to slowly creep in. We had some lead problems to the right but thats her hard side and after about five minutes she was able to not run into but forwardly get off her butt and canter and then keep useing her hind end and is was amazing! She has the smoothed canter. and its fun. LOL
When we went to change directions to canter to the left she knew it was time to canter, you could tell the light bulb was ON and she was in GO mode. haha I was having to half halt her alot to get her to not just run around likea chicken with its head chopped off but actly remind her she needs to be balanced or she will trip and fall on her face, witch almost happend a couple of times. we got the hang out it after a few rounds and even gota good canter to trot trantion, trot to walk after the canter was littler rougher.. she was still cantering in her mind I guess lol
SO two great rides, minus being bucked off, but considering that I have had her a year now and she is almost 4 years old and has been broke almost a year little less, but this is the first time she bucked me off, hey I am not complaining(now that mybodey has stopped hurting) LOL
anyways, I am going to really work hard at our trantons and canter and balancing it better and work on myself till the show and hope it is worth it to go and enter her in 2 gait and 3 gait classes.
Im so proud of her and so happy we are comming along so well.

~
~Well Today was so good, I feel very good about what Klassy and I worked on, She was very very relaxed and decided to use ther back and hind end for momentum and we werent slugish like the last two rides I had on her. She does so great on the lounge line with her side rains and I think is really finding that when she is balanced properly she can be faster and I praise more. lol
She is now on Ulcer suppliments and I think that is making her feel better so she is more willing to work! She got her new sheet, as you can see its the baby blue plaid one and the new turnout blanket fits very well :) TAHNK YOU LORI!!!! Today Klassy was very relxed and did alot of streching and only threw a tantrum cause she was tired nad it was the end of our ride, we did 10 minute sof walk and 10 minutes of trot, but as soon as I told her she was done soon and that she just had to relaxe again, move of my leg both ways that she was done she decided that listening and working through it was the best option, That is just a huge improvement rom 4 months ago when she wouldnt go at all when she dicided that she was done. She just marched on after i made her move forward and acted like she hadnt put up a fuss at all! I was so proud! We have our 1st show on May 1st!! Myabe doing some clinics soon, Meghan is going to hual a few of us soon to some gig harbor schooling dressage shows. I am soo happy! More later!
